'Pelicans on the Murray'
- Peter Hayward
The photo was taken while onboard a 'Houseboat' while I was travelling down the River Murray with friends. The river Murray is Australia's largest river and we were just a few km's upstream from Morgan in South Australia. I could see the birds had gathered on the old, partly submerged fallen tree as we approached the area so I wondered if they would 'line up' while we cruised past. The shot is the result.
Taken with my Nikon D500, 200-500 Nikkor, 290mm, 1/2000, f5.6, ISO1600. As it was quite overcast and rainy I thought it best to puff a little light into the shot with a Magmod light extender mounted on my Metz 64D flash. I'm really pleased how it turned out.
PS I love my Cotton Carrier CCS G3 Grey Harness-2, it's ideal for trips such as I was on

Peregrine falcon returning to its favorite perch!
- Robert Kaplan
I've been photographing a pair of adult peregrine falcons in New Jersey for several years. They hunt bluejays and other small birds and bring them back to eat. This particular peregrine was photographed upon its return after an unsuccessful hunt.

« By the way your camera harness has literally saved my back because I ride my bike with my giant 200 - 500mm lens and camera for many miles to take nature and wildlife photos here in the Orlando area. It's an essential piece of equipment!
