Just back from an incredible week hiking in New Zealand’s Southern Alps, making the most of a long and stable weather window. We covered a lot of distance walking along rocky ridge-lines, scrambling around bluffs and up steep slopes. For this reason I wore my Cotton Carrier harness underneath my heavy pack, allowing for easy scrambling on all-fours when required. The days were long and technically demanding and if my camera was in my pack I would have missed my best shots. I thought that wearing the harness underneath my pack might have been uncomfortable but it wasn’t the case. I did get a bit sweatier at times but the results was totally worth it.
